What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a site stores in your browser to remember information from one visit to the next. There are similar technologies, such as local storage or the cache of a service worker (a small program that lets a site work offline).
This policy explains which of them www.ipatarragona.org uses, in accordance with Article 22(2) of Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI-CE) and the Guide on the use of cookies published by the Spanish Data Protection Agency.
Cookies we use
| Cookie | Owner | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ipa_locale | IPA Tarragona (first party) | Technical or preference cookie: remembers the language you are browsing in or have chosen (Catalan, Spanish or English) so that the site is shown in that language. | 1 year |
This cookie contains no data that identifies you, is not used to analyse your browsing and is not shared with anyone. It is exempt from consent because it is necessary to provide the service you ask for: viewing the site in your language (Article 22(2) LSSI-CE).
On www.ipatarragona.org we do not use analytics, advertising, social media or any other third-party cookies.
Offline local storage
The website installs a service worker that stores in your browser cache a copy of some resources (styles, images and fonts) and of the last pages you visit, up to a maximum of 40, so that they load faster and can be viewed offline. This copy stays on your device: it is not sent to IPA Tarragona or to third parties and is not used to identify you.
Pages containing personal data, such as the tracking page for a membership application or a team dossier, are never stored in this cache. Nor do we use the browser’s local storage (localStorage) to store personal data.
Third-party services
- Map of delegations: the map tiles are loaded from OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org). To deliver them, this provider receives your device’s IP address; we do not give it any other data.
- Images and content: these are served from panel.ipatarragona.org, which is managed by IPA Tarragona itself.
- Fonts: these are served from our own domain, without using external services.
- WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram: these are ordinary links; we do not load their buttons or embedded content. You only reach those services if you click, and they apply their own cookies and policies.
- Videos: the website does not currently include embedded videos. If YouTube videos are added, they will be embedded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), in which, according to YouTube, no information about your browsing is stored until you play the video; once you play it, YouTube may use its own cookies or similar technologies. If we add any service that requires your consent, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before enabling it.
Management panel
The management panel (panel.ipatarragona.org), which runs on WordPress, uses technical session and security cookies only for the authorised staff who manage it, when they log in. They do not affect visitors to the website.
Why there is no cookie banner
The law only requires consent for cookies that are not necessary. As this website only uses the technical language cookie and technical storage, we do not show a banner asking you to accept or reject cookies. If we ever add cookies that require consent, we will ask for it before setting them and you will be able to withdraw it whenever you wish.
How to delete or block cookies
You can view, delete or block cookies and site data in your browser’s privacy settings (in most browsers, under “Privacy and security” or “Site data”). Clearing the data for www.ipatarragona.org also removes the language cookie and the offline cache. If you block the language cookie, the website will still work, but it may not remember the language you chose.
Changes to this policy
We will review this policy whenever the cookies or technologies used by the website change. You will find more information about how we process your data in the privacy policy; if you have any questions, write to us at ipatarragona@ipatarragona.org.
